Sketchbooks of an Artist
Here is a little show and tell of my sketchbooks at the moment. It changes over time. I have many sketchbooks some I write some I sketch.
I like making my own sketchbooks but I also enjoy a store bought one. The fun thing about a self crafted one is there is no limit to what one wants to put in as paper. cheep to high quality. Its up to the artist.
In the top right is my sketchbook. I will do a little book view when I finish with the sketchbook. I am currently working on a little sketch book so it might be a little till I get to use this one. I put stickers on it to have a little fun.
Below that is a black folder that I keep loose art pieces that I am working on. I like to use loose paper because Its cheaper paper so I just use them for concepts to transfer to better paper. I use a medium size light board to transfer sometimes. There are many ways to transfer.
Then the little book to the left is my new watercolor book. I got at a convention. I am excited to draw in that. Just little water color studies.
Here I have is a sketchbook I have created and bound. I am still trying out how to make the covers better so they do not fall apart of get too damaged. Its a work in progress. I want to start selling at cons and this website once I understand how shipping works.
This little yellow sketchbook below that is a journal and sketchbook I made out of old construction paper. I never written in a journal until the beginning of this year. I have to say it helps to clear my head to focus on what I need to get done. Starting a journal as an artist is helpful. I recommend for every one not just artists to do.
Behind that is a little commission I am working on. Its on a loose paper just to get the idea down then. I can create as many mistakes as I want to. Once I am confident with the piece I will transfer it to better paper. its a long process but inch by inch, little by little, I get the work done.
MY art table
Overall these are the sketchbooks I am working on to finish. Some made by me, others bought but they are all useful. I encourage you to get one and start creating.
